Who Wants to be
My Date?

Objective :
After choosing the qualities that best suit them, the students will be able to perform in a 2 minutes presentation where they will have to convince the other like if they were in a dating agency.
Relate:
- Ask students if they know that in some dating agencies men and women have to film themselves in order to get match with somebody they would like to be with.
- Tell the students that they will have to the do the same kind of presentation.
- Give a list of qualities to students. Tell students to check the qualities that describe themselves, and tell them that they also have to find the qualities they would like to meet in the person they are looking for. Tell students this list is going to help them with their presentation.
- Do a debriefing (ask each team) about the most important qualities they want the perfect boy and girl to have. (at least 4 by team).
Context:
- Explain the activity
- "Today, you are going to prepare your presentation. I want you to do a 2 minutes or 2 minutes ½ presentation. I want you to know that you won’t be oblige to talk about yourself, for this presentation you can be anyone, please be original. In the first part of the presentation, you will have to describe yourself. You will have to say your name, your age.You will have to talk about your job, your interests and hobbies. I also want you to talk about some of your qualities and weaknesses. You could also talk about your life in general (family, values, your position about some situations). In the second part, I want you to talk about your expectations. You will have to talk about the kind of man or woman you’re looking for. You will have to talk about the kind of person that you would like to meet (qualities, values). You will also have to tell me what you would like to do with that person (no vulgarities will be accepted). You could also identify the kind of person you don’t want to date. The last part, the conclusion, is really short. It consist of only one sentence, where you will have to sell yourself. I will give you the rest of the period to do your presentation, because I want a written version of it".
Task:
- Students write their presentation.
- One class will be given to the writing of the presentation.
- Two classes will be given to film your students.
